A busy day here today!

Good Afternoon everyone!

Thank you for popping over 'Mrs Twins',

Today I would like to thank Jane for sending me two Sunshine Blankets which arrived this morning just in time for my delivery this afternoon. I am so grateful to you for getting them to me just in time.
I now have 42 Sunshine Blankets ready for the off. I quickly found some Ribbon to decorate the Blankets and Jane helped me out already with the Butterflies which she kindly sewed on for me. These Blankets once again are a great size I just love them.

'Earth's Music' and plenty more from Singapore!

Good Morning and welcome!

I would like to thank 'PinkLemons' today. She has very kindly sent me a beautiful, beautiful Sunshine Blanket all the way from Singapore! Just take a look at this gorgeous piece of work! The Blanket is called 'Earth's Music'. Here's the LINK to her RAVELRY page.

'PinkLemons' has named the Blanket 'Earth's Music' after a poem by Edwin Curran, which reads,

'Flowers are the music of the ground
From earth's lips spoken without sound'.

Decorated with Ribbon and a Butterfly this surely is going to be loved by one of the Residents.
Certainly bringing a smile to their face.

Just look at all that colour and such pretty Flowers.

Made so neatly.....

Not only did 'PinkLemons' make a Blanket she also made a Shawl.

If you want to read all about the making of the Shawl please pop over to her RAVELRY page. Here's the LINK. The pattern is 'Venus Tips Up with shoulder shaping' by Diane Conroy.

Superb 'PinkLemons!' A Hat too for our Christmas Gift appeal.

You are so terribly kind thank you so much for making these beautiful items and donating them to 'SIBOL'.

I will be taking these out as soon as possible.  Your kind words about our project are very much appreciated 'PinkLemons' thank you so much. I also loved your little cards which were attached a great idea.

An exciting day here today! Thank you for visiting!

Good Afternoon  and welcome!

Well I've had two more parcels arrive this morning. I would like to thank Sally and GillyLilly over on RAVELRY.

Sally has very kindly assembled Squares from Irene  &  Co. A beautiful Sunshine Blanket and a Scarf for our Christmas Gift appeal. A great way to use those 'rectangle' shapes Sally and I love the flowers you have made for the Scarf. I love the pockets too a great idea.

Let's take a look now.

A Sunshine Blanket too!

Thanks so much for your help once again Sally. Another Blanket for our pile! :)

Next we have two Shawls made by GillyLilly over on RAVELRY.

These are so pretty!

Beautiful colours in these Shawls GillyLilly!

Someone is going to love this Shawl!

Then we have.....

Wow! Aren't they gorgeous! They must have taken you ages GillyLilly! Thank you so much
for making and donating them to our 'SIBOL' project.

I can't wait to give out our Sunshine Blankets on the 28th with half of our Christmas Gifts. We've been so...successful this year once again. Turning  over our 900th Blanket is such an achievement. What shall we do to celebrate our 1,000th! I think some sort of celebration is in order. Anyone have any ideas? sueatpigsty@talktalk.net if you do! I shall also be visiting another Home to give out our Shawls and the other half of the Christmas Gifts. I thought it only fair to divide what's come in.

I think that's all for today!

Thanks so much for following our Blog.

Friday's Delivery!

Good Morning to you all!

I would like to thank 'Ginnyknit' for sending in four Sunshine Blankets today. The Squares were sent to 'Ginnyknit' from Linda of 'Chalky's World'. 'Ginnyknit' has made a superb job of putting the Squares together and I'm sure you will agree they are going to be loved by Residents in the Homes.

We have two Christmasy Blankets amongst them  which is a nice change especially for this time of year I can't wait to show you.

Decorated with the usual Ribbon and Butterflies they are going to be lovely Gifts for the Residents.
I am in need of spare Ribbons Ladies so if anyone has any on Christmas presents this year that they
can't find a use for would you consider sending to me for the 'SIBOL' project please? There are very often Ribbons on bales of Towels, Chocolates and other Gifts that we could find a use for.

Butterflies are always useful too so if you want to Crochet any please feel free to send them. I will give you the Link over to Nettie's Blog in Australia. I warn you these Butterflies are very addictive and once you have mastered one you will probably want to do more. Any colour, any size would be perfect thank  you so much.

These Blankets are superb!

Thank you so much 'Ginnyknit'.

Now 'Ginnyknit' has introduced her friend Jill to our 'SIBOL' project and this morning I have
received some beautiful Shawls from her. These three Shawls have been made so beautifully and they will be very useful indeed for Residents in a Care Home. I have actually counted the ones upstairs this morning and with these three I now have 24! It's really surprising how quickly they add up. I can assure you the Residents are loving them in the Homes and I'm grateful to you Jill and everyone else for making them.

I hope you like the photos Jill many thanks.

Absolutely gorgeous thank you Jill.

What an exciting day again today!

Thank you both for your 'SIBOL' donations and for following the 'SIBOL' Blog too!

If anyone else has items for 'SIBOL' please could you let me know by email that they are on their way. My deadline date is end of November now. We will start again in the New Year thanks so much.

Pretty Knitted Butterflies and a Christmas Blanket.

Good afternoon and welcome!

I would like to thank Liz this afternoon for her 'Christmas Blanket' I have just found it in my porch. It's' so bright and cheerful and just look at the cute Butterflies Liz has Knitted. They really are very un-usual. Little spots on them and I love the antennae.

Liz Dove thank you for the Knitted Butterflies.

The Blanket is a perfect size for someone's lap and I'm sure they are going to love it.

What a good way to use up that un-wanted yarn and in the traditional Granny Square way too. I just love it thanks so much Liz. I have found some pink Ribbon which I think finishes it off so well. I shall be sure to take this one too to 'Olivet' Care Home on the 28th November. So that's 32 to take now.  We are getting quite a collection already of Blankets and I know for a fact that they are going to be useful to the Home.  If you read my previous post I am going on the 28th November to deliver Sunshine Blankets and half of the Knitted items we have made. Jane has invited me to their 'Knit Activity Group' where they are serving  'Bailey's coffee and chocolates'. How could I refuse?

Thanks so much Liz, let's take a look  now at your Blanket.

Superb!

Christmas Gift appeal.

Good Morning,

Thanks to everyone for making Christmas Gifts for Residents in Care Homes. We've had quite a good variety of Knitted items arrive and I'm sure they will be very useful.

I'm just popping in to remind you that all Knitted items must arrive by the end of November so that I can deliver them in the first/second week of December. I wonder if you could email me please if your Knitted items are going to be in the post this week or next. That's so I have an idea of what else is coming in.

My email address is sueatpigsty@talktalk.net

My plan is to deliver 31 Sunshine Blankets to Olivet Care Home on the 28th November along with half of the Knitted items.  I contacted them yesterday to see if they wanted more Blankets.

Jane said, "The blankets that we recently donated have been extremely popular and have been allocated to residents in their rooms as they are all so beautiful. They have also kept some for when they go out on trips in the minibus to help keep the residents warm."

They have 75 Residents in total so I’m really happy to be able to give them some more. They also have a new Home in Coventry opening so they would like to pass some on to them too.  Then the rest of the Knitted items will be delivered with the box of Shawls I have here to a second Home. I thought I would give to two Homes so that they have a good selection each.

It's so nice to know that our Blankets are making a difference to Residents and I do hope everyone will support the 'SIBOL' project next year.  Our closing date for this year for all items Sunshine Blankets, Shawls and Christmas Gifts is end of November.
Before I go I would like to show you a photo of what we've received so far. Please note that the 'Christmas Gift' idea is just for Christmas and will not be running throughout the year.

I would like to thank everyone for their support this year. You've all been fantastic!
