Pretty Grannies.....

Good Evening,

I would like to thank Myrna today for some beautiful Sunshine Blankets and Knitted items.
I am afraid you are a little late now my closing date was end of November but I will be taking
these out next year for you. I'm sorry I can't go out to the Homes again this year as I'm getting
ready for Christmas.   If anyone else has anything for me would you please hold on to it until the
New Year. Thanks ever so much.

Let's take a look at what Myrna has sent to me. Some beautiful Crocheted Blankets with Butterflies
attached and some lovely warm items for the Elderly.  I am very grateful to you Myrna you have
given such a lot of your time to our 'SIBOL' project and I know everything will be appreciated by
the Homes.

Thanks so much.

'Dancing Light'.

Good afternoon and welcome!

I would like to thank 'Purlygalore' today for a beautiful Knitted Sunshine Blanket that she has made and donated to 'SIBOL'.  Purlygalore has called the Blanket 'Dancing Light'  and I'm sure you will agree this is a perfect name.  If you would like to pop over to her RAVELRY page you will be able to
read all about the making of the Blanket and the beautiful Stylecraft yarn that she has used. The combination of colours is spot on. I love this Blanket.  Here's the LINK.

Now for some photos.

Some pretty Butterflies too! Thank you so much Purlygalore for 'Dancing Light' and indeed the Butterflies.

I will be taking this Blanket out very soon.

Delivering our Knitted items today! Thanks everyone!

Good Afternoon,

I would like to thank everyone for sending me Christmas Gifts for the Elderly. We've had such a good response that I decided to split the items between two Homes. Today I was taking the last lot to The Grove Care Home in Solihull.

I rang up this morning and went off to meet Jayne.  I did ask her a while ago if they wanted any Knitted items and she said that they would be very useful. They often have trips out in the mini bus to various places so Knitted wear would be appreciated.

Loaded up with a box full to the brim I went off.

I was so proud of the items that we had made. Beautiful Scarves and Fingerless Gloves, Bed Socks, Hats and Gloves etc., are going to be very useful to the Home.

Jayne kindly agreed to having her photo taken but somehow my iphone wouldn't go off 'video'.
We both tried to swipe it over to 'photos' but in the end we took a video of Jayne saying 'Thank you!'

She tried one of our Hats on.

Thank you so much Jayne for acceping our items it was lovely to meet you again.

Here's the video I hope!
This is Jayne - Deputy Manager of The Grove Care Home, Solihull
thanking you all.

It is very quiet sorry.

A Big Thank you to everyone that has made a Warm item for the Residents in Care Homes. They have all been very much appreciated.

I'm back with an email I have received from Lyndon - The Manager at Grove Care Home. I thought you might like to read it.

Hello Sue
I came back from my morning meeting to find a wonderful box of hats and gloves. You are all so very kind. Already two of the ladies who suffer with cold hands have a set each and they are so happy with them. Please say a very big thank you to all of your ladies. Can I also say a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year to you and your ladies along with all of your families.
Again thank you so much.

Back to deliveries today!

Hello everyone!

I do hope you will scroll down and see what's new today! I've had such a busy day once again with lots of beautiful work arriving at my home.  After lunch I decided  to phone up Kingsleigh House, Birmingham to see if they would like to accept donations of Shawls. Like our Sunshine Blankets these come in so quickly and it always surprises me how hard you all work! Each one is so....different and I just love the variety of patterns.

With this one added to from 'jessiebonbon' (see previous post).

'jessiebonbon' Thank you for the Shawl.

Off I went with Shawls loaded up in to two boxes.

Shawls delivered today to Kingsleigh House, Birmingham.

The Manager Alan wasn't available but two of his Staff accepted the Shawls.

Delivery of Shawls today to Kingsleigh House, Birmingham. Thanks everyone!

They are a sister Home to Olivet, who I visited last Friday. Once again the Home is a very
friendly one and I know that our Shawls will make a difference. The Lady on the Left said
how much the Blankets brighten up their Residents' rooms.

The Home said a Big Thank You!

Let's hope we can make plenty more next year.

A busy week so far.

Good Morning to you all!

Just take a look at these!

I can't believe I've reached 930 Sunshine Blankets now! It wasn't five minutes ago we had reached our 900th Sunshine Blanket! These Blankets are wonderful. A lot of work must have gone in to them thank you so much. They are an ideal size and will be so warm.

We also have Christmas Gifts for Residents in the Homes. Two ribbed Scarves will keep two Residents warm and Fingerless Gloves will be perfect too. Made in great colours. Thank you both so much!

Another busy day and I think I am waiting for one more Sunshine Blanket now which should be on it's way.

Thank you all so very much. I know the Residents are going to love what we've made for them.

Please do not send anything else now. Could you leave it till after Christmas now please.

Sunshine Blanket and Shawls arrive today!

Good morning and welcome!

The final items are arriving at my home for this years last delivery. As you know my closing date was end of November but a couple of Ladies have told me that their work is on the way. So I will hold on for you. I am hopefully going out to my last home later on this week.  Our blankets have been accepted so well and this morning I received an email from Jane at Olivet, Birmingham.

She says,

"Once again, on behalf of everyone at Olivet and our other homes, thank you to you and all your online knitters for such wonderful blankets.  It is so nice to pass the residents' rooms and see a blanket on the bed brightening it up and keeping their feet warm."

Thank you Jane

Another blanket that will certainly be brightening someone's room is this one received from Gwyneth this morning. Made in Green, Yellow and white this is a very spring-like blanket. A great size too and would probably suit someone that liked their garden. I'm sure this one like all the other blankets  we have made will be talking points for many days to come after receiving them.

A superb Sunshine blanket made by Gwyneth. Thank you so much I love it.

I've done my best with photos but it's quite dark today.

Next we have two more Shawls from baw1812.  Thank you so much for these pretty Shawls, your hook has been smoking this year with all your wonderful donations. These Shawls are certainly addictive.

Pretty Butterflies too to add to our Butterfly collection.

I've made one too this one is going to Irene's neighbour 'Eileen' who is taking it to
Lady Katherines' Home at Balsall Common.

Thank you Gwyneth and baw1812 your work is lovely and very much appreciated.

That's all for today, may I remind you now that I cannot accept anything else for this year.
There's nothing to stop you Knitting and Crocheting but please hold on to everything until
2nd January 2015.
