Blankets arrive for our Elderly folk.

Good afternoon and welcome!

I am very pleased to be showing you two fantastic Blankets today. They have arrived from Jayne and 'jessiebonbon'.

The first one has been made by 'jessiebonbon' over on RAVELRY. It's called 'Rainbow Blanket' and it is made from scraps of yarn. What a fantastic idea! We all have odd bits of yarn in our Stash that could be used this way. I do hope 'jessiebonbon' has inspired you to do something similar! It certainly is a very colourful Blanket and I know that an Elderly person is going to love the colours in this Blanket.

626 'jessiebonbon' RAVELRY. Thank you for 'Rainbow Blanket'.

Butterflies used on 'Rainbow Blanket' were sent in by Jayne.

A great border finishes it off too! What a gorgeous Blanket.

Thank you very much indeed 'jessiebonbon'.

Secondly, I would like to thank Jayne for donating a Blanket to 'SIBOL'. This one has been finished off with a couple of tiny Butterflies I had in my Stash and I also found some Red Ribbon which compliments her Blanket really well I think. Only a few colours have been used in this Blanket but I'm sure you will agree they all co-ordinate so well.

Another fantastic Blanket and gorgeous Butterflies too Jayne thank you. Great for my Stash.

The Blankets are coming in very quickly this year which is lovely. Although
we are NOT collecting Squares now we have some beautiful donated 'Sunshine Blankets'
all ready to go off to the Elderly which is lovely. This saves us a lot of time assembling Squares this end.

Thank you both very much indeed!

More pretty Blankets arrive today!

Good Morning,

Before I show you what's new today. I have a problem.....can you help?

Yesterday I received 3 'Sunshine Blankets' through the post and I thought they were Myrna's Blankets as I was expecting some. So I posted them on the Blog yesterday thinking they were hers. Unfortunately, there was no note inside the parcel. Well today I have now received 4 Blankets from Myrna. So the ones yesterday couldn't have been hers.  So if you are popping in to 'SIBOL' today and are wondering whether I have showed your Blankets please could you mail me. Sue on sueatpigsty@talktalk.net. I have put yesterday's post in to draft until I know who they belong to.  I am at present trawling through my emails to try and find out who they belong to and of course going back into my photo records to see if I can get a clue who they belong to. We have regular Ladies and I shall probably kick myself when I find out who they belong to but at the present moment it's a mystery.  I'm all over the place at the moment with my new routine at home.

Anyway today I have pleasure in showing you Myrna's 'Sunshine Blankets'. She has sent me 4 beautiful Blankets and it's going to be so difficult to think of names for these ones. But I'm sure with the help of Ladies on RAVELRY we will be successful.

Here's the first one.

625 Myrna thank you

622 Myrna thank you.

I love how the Grey and Yellow Squares are placed in the Blanket above.

These Blankets are really stunning Myrna..
I love the Butterflies you have made and I know they are going to be so well received in the Homes.

Thank you very much indeed.

Colourful Shawl for the Elderly.

Good Afternoon to you.

Although I haven't received this Shawl yet made by 'silver surfer' she has sent me a photo.
The Squares were sent to me from the States by lynne222 and and 'silver surfer' has very kindly
assembled them for me into a Shawl.  The Granny Shawl is from a pattern by  Shirley Syfrett. I think one
of the Ladies on Loving Hands first of all tried it out and 'silver surfer' told me about it.

The pattern was in an old copy of Crochet World (April 2010) and I managed to purchase a copy on EBAY from the States. Inititally I did suggest making Shawls with Squares and that's why I tried to get hold
of a copy but of course please feel free to make a Shawl in whatever pattern you like Crocheted or Knitted.

Let's take a look at it.

Shawl made by Pat

I can imagine this laying on an Elderly persons shoulders. I'm sure it would be very warm and colourful to brighten their day!

Thank you both very much. You are welcome to join in!
Why not make a Shawl for the Elderly?

What's new today?

Good afternoon and welcome!

I would like to thank Liz from Loving Hands for sending me a beautiful 'Sunshine Blanket' today that she has made for our 'SIBOL' project. This Blanket certainly will brighten an Elderly person's day. It has such pretty coloured Squares and I think the Black joining really makes the Squares stand out.

617 'E.M' Thank you. A beautiful donated 'Sunshine Blanket' for SIBOL.

004

Not only did Liz make a 'Sunshine Blanket' she also made a Shawl too. I'm so pleased that Shawls were suggested for our project because today I received the very first one from Liz and I know on receiving it how useful they are going to be.  Certainly will take the chill off someone.

I've found some pretty Ribbon to decorate along with our 'SIBOL' Butterflies. Let's take a look now.

Shawl 1 'E.M'. Thank you! Gorgeous!

Shawls for the Elderly.

Hi everyone!

Thank you for taking an interest in making Shawls for the Elderly. I'm very pleased to say I have obtained a simple pattern for a Crocheted Granny Square Shawl by Shirley Syfrett which I would like to share with you. If you are interested then why not drop me an email. I'll be very pleased to send it by attachment. sueatpigsty@talktalk.net

Everyone loves making Crocheted Squares and this is yet another way of putting them to a good use for the Elderly.

Thank you!
