I've finally finished Blogging for today! Pop in and see our work.

Good Afternoon and thanks for popping into 'Mrs Twins'  today!

Golly the Blankets and Shawls are certainly rolling in this week. It's always a pleasure to receive them. Often your work takes me by surprise and today I have received two very large parcels from Kersey and Linda and the North East Loving Hands Group. It's always like Christmas in my house when I open the parcels as you can imagine.

Let's start with the parcel from Kersey from Carmarthenshire.

Knitting in our Group is very popular and Kersey has Knitted us a  Shawl for the Elderly. A lovely girlie Shawl with a very pretty edging. The colours are just so perfect! Take a look now. There's a lot of sun about today so I'm sorry about the shadows. I do want to get these loaded up before the family come in for the weekend.

Now I would like to thank Linda and the North East Group of Loving Hands. It's always so nice to involve other Knitting Groups and once again today I am really surprised at the amount of Blankets and Shawls included in the parcel.

Everything in the parcel has been made beautifully.
I would like to thank every one who has supported the SIBOL project.
I am going to do my best to tell you who's sent what but the bits of paper went flying everywhere. Let's see how we go.

Congratulations 700 Sunshine Blankets now!

Good Morning,

I am very pleased to be telling you that yesterday we reached our 700th Sunshine Blanket. What an achievement! Our Group was started in January 2010 and since then we have been working very hard indeed trying to bring a little Sunshine into the Lives of the Elderly.  It's always such a pleasure to hand deliver your Blankets and I know where each and every Blanket has found it's home.

Yesterday I received 'Sunshine Blankets' from Pippa and Chalky's World and with this bumper delivery we actually clocked up 704 Blankets. So well done to both of you and thanks to everyone else who has supported the SIBOL Project.

The Blankets that I receive are always so different and I can honestly say that no two are the same. Made lovingly by all of you they give a great deal of comfort to an Elderly person.  On my visit to Willow Grange on Monday it was really lovely to see some of our Blankets already in use. I looked around the Lounge of the Home and noticed quite a few on the laps of the Residents so I can tell you first hand how useful they are.

May I show you the Blankets that I received yesterday.

002

Decorated with Ribbons and Butterflies these surely are going to be loved.

What a great way to use the Granny Square! The next Blanket was actually a 'take a bag' that Chalky's World has put together for me. The border finishes it off beautifully. Thank you so much for your help Chalky's World and also for sending Ribbon to me which will be very useful!

Have you ever popped over to Chalky's World? Here's the Link. Her Blog is well worth a visit so please pop over.

The other Blanket that I received was from Pippa. This is a very pretty Knitted Blanket and the Squares were made by Irene our 90 year old SIBOLETTE. A lovely set of Squares and a beautiful border make this another stunning 'Sunshine Blanket'. I love the colours in this one.

Well a wonderful selection of Blankets thank you both so...much!

Once again Congratulations to you all!

Shawls and Sunshine Blankets delivered today!

 Good Afternoon,

A very  busy day here today.  First of all this morning I had two fantastic 'Sunshine Blankets' arrive from MarilynJG. The first one is called 'Lilac Lattice' and the second one is 'Stained Glass Blanket'. These two Blankets are really unusual. I love the colours in both of them and I love the patterns. MarilynJG they must have taken you ages to make. I'm sure they are going to be admired in the Homes and I know they will give two Elderly Residents a great deal of comfort.

Let's take a look at them now.  Here's 'Lilac Lattice' and here's the LINK.

A fantastic combination of colours. Thank you very much MarilynJG.

As you know every couple of months I visit a Home or two. Back in February I visited Willow Grange Care Home in Olton, Solihull.  Our Blankets were accepted very well indeed by the Members of Staff and I promised to go back with another 24 so that every Resident in the Home could receive one.  A few days ago I started getting the Blankets ready and once again it surprises me how quickly they add up.

002

003

The idea of making Shawls for the Homes has gone down very well indeed and today when I visited Willow Grange I took along 13 with me.   Here's a photo of Willow Grange Care Home in Olton.

Willow Grange, Solihull, West Midlands

I arranged with Nikki to go in at 2.00pm and although she was in a meeting when I arrived the Members of Staff very kindly agreed to have a photo taken. They admired the Blankets greatly not to
mention the Shawls. They just loved them.  Looking around the Lounge at the Home I could see our
Blankets being used so I know they are very useful to them. All the Staff Members wanted me to thank you all for the Blankets they realise what a lot of work goes in to them. So a Big Thank you! They absolutely loved the idea of the Shawls so well done to everyone!

Have a lovely afternoon and thanks for visiting today!
