What's new today?

Good afternoon to you all !

Today I have three new Sunshine Blankets to show you. The first made by Sally. This Blanket is going to be given to a Nursing Home near to where Sally lives but in our 'SIBOL' name. That's absolutely fine with me and I'm pleased that our Blankets can go further afield.

Edit's Sunshine Blanket.

photo.JPG

Hi everyone!

Don't you just love Blankets tied up with Ribbon and pretty Butterflies!  I love receiving your donations for Residents in Care Homes and decorating them ready to be delivered. I have over 20 Sunshine Blankets upstairs now so I will be looking for a worthy Home to deliver them to.

This Sunshine Blanket was sent to me by Edit in Spain. How kind of her!  Edit tells me she had no use for the Blanket after making it and thought of our SIBOL project. I know an Elderly person is just going to love receiving it. What a lovely Gift. Thank you so much Edit.

Made so neatly and in beautiful colour combinations this is definitely going to be a talking point in one of the Homes.

Why not make a Sunshine Blanket for 'SIBOL'?

Good afternoon,

Our beautiful Sunshine Blankets ' SIBOL' are great gifts for the elderly. Making now well over 1,000 we certainly have made a difference to Care Homes.  Many residents often feel the cold probably because they are on medication or maybe it's just the sitting around and not moving about so much.
Making a Sunshine Blanket  for them is a really lovely idea. A great way for us to keep our hands busy while watching tv and our thoughts on others. What a great way to use those odd scraps of yarn up. The Residents in the Homes are always so thrilled that someone has thought of them and our Blankets really brighten up dreary rooms.

Today I have received two very pretty Sunshine Blankets from pippa's friend Joan.
Made beautifully and both in great sizes these surely are going to be well received in the Homes.

Both made in the basic Granny Square design the Squares really do make stunning Blankets.

I love them. Thank you pippa for bringing them to my home this morning and thanks to Joan too for making them so beautifully.

If you are interested in helping our 'SIBOL' project we have a Group over on RAVELRY. Why not join us? Here's the LINK.

If you'd like more information about our project please pop over to SIBOL CHALLENGES.

Of course you can contact me on sueatpigsty@talktalk.net for any other enquiries you may have.

I hope you can find some odd scraps of yarn and sit down and make a Blanket for us. I am very happy to received Knitted and Crocheted Blankets of any colour ideally in Acrylic yarn.

Thank you so much.

What's new today?

Good evening to you! Welcome!

I am very pleased to be showing you a beautiful Sunshine Blanket called 'The Snow Mink'. It was made by Dulcatis over on RAVELRY and she is very kindly donating this Blanket to a Home near to where she lives. This is a superb Blanket and I know it's going to be very well received by one lucky person. Dulcatis tells me this one took a little longer than the other ones she has made but I know it's
been worth it. It is so...pretty!

Let's take a look now I can't wait to show you.

The Snow Mink 1

A Butterfly added too can you spot it?

Thank you so much Dulcatis.

Such lovely donations arrive today!

Good afternoon and welcome!

Thanks for visiting today.

First of all I would like to thank 'Whatkatyknits' (RAV) for two superb Shawls. Both made in very pretty coloured yarn they are going to be very well received in the Homes I visit.

Thank you to 'Whatkatyknits' (RAV) two superb Shawls.  x

It's really very kind of you to make the Shawls and Butterflies too.
I think you've mastered them perfectly.

Fluttering Butterflies made and donated by 'Whatkatyknits!' I love them thank you!

'Isrose' (RAV) from Norway has sent me four Shawls too today.
It's very kind of you to send them across the miles for our 'SIBOL' project.
Such beautiful patterns I love them thank you.

Hilde 'Isrose' (Norway) thank you so much for the Shawls. So pretty! x

Anne has sent me a beautiful Lilac and Cream Sunshine Blanket today.
It's made in lovely chunky yarn and is certainly going to give a lot of comfort to one lucky Resident.

Anne Says, " I have made it double thick on the inside and single thickness in the edging, just in case they want to use it outside or for anyone who really feels the cold in winter etc.  I made it so that it could be used on top of a bed, in a wheelchair or as a lap rug outside."
I think it's a really well thought out Sunshine Blanket Anne thanks ever so much for taking the time and trouble to make it. I'm sure it worked up really quickly.

1075 'Lavender and Purls' made and donated by Anne Wright. Thank you.

I've decorated with Ribbon and a Butterfly to match and I'm really grateful too for the card that you have addressed to the person who receives your Blanket, a really nice touch. How thoughtful!

Let's take a look at the Sunshine Blanket now!

We all love Granny Squares!

Good afternoon,

Today I would like to thank Susan for a very pretty Granny Square Blanket received today. It's absolutely stunning! Larger than what we normally receive but that doesn't matter at all. Sometimes the Homes find the larger ones very useful indeed. This one will fit perfectly on a single bed and it really will brighten up someone's room. Susan tells me it is made out of scraps of yarn that she had at home buying just a little yarn to finish it off.  I think this is a really good idea and I am very grateful to you indeed. It's so pretty!

When I opened the parcel the Blanket was already tied up in Ribbon and Susan had made one of our Butterflies too which was very thoughtful indeed. Thank you so much for donating this piece of work to our 'SIBOL' project it really was very nice of you.

Thank you Susan
