A pretty Granny blanket to show you!

Hi everyone!

253. 'Never Ending Tutti Frutti' made and donated by Beang (UK). Thank you!

I can't believe we are on Number 253 now of our 'SIBOL' blankets. They certainly are adding up again.

Today I received a donated blanket from beang over on RAVELRY. She has very kindly made and donated a gorgeous Granny blanket made in such pretty colours. A wonderful variegated yarn has been used in the centre part of this blanket and I'm sure you will agree it is very striking. I do hope this will inspire you to make your own blanket for 'SIBOL!'.

She also sent in some Butterflies and Flower embellishments for our blankets. I am terribly grateful to you Beang, thank you so much!

Three pretty blankets to show you today!

Good afternoon and welcome to 'Mrs Twins'.

I have three lovely blankets to show you this afternoon and I know you are going to love them. The first has been made by Linda. Thank you so much for this beautiful Flower blanket. Flower squares are my absolute favourite and this blanket is really very pretty indeed.

Beautiful Butterflies and ribbon finish this blanket off so nicely. Thank you very much Linda, a complete surprise!

I would also like to thank pippa for making these two blankets up for me. My thanks also go to the Ladies who contributed Squares for these two blankets. They are once again very nice indeed.

Catching up with myself.

246.

Hi Everyone!

I've had a very busy week because my other half Mr. Twins has been on holiday. You know what it's like your routine has been disrupted, can't get to do your usual house chores. You're out and about visiting places. Well I've had  a lovely week. We've been to Lincoln and also Cambridge and we've had good weather too apart from around 5.00 pm in Cambridge where we both got absolutely soaked. We did managed to have a ride on a punt though which we both thoroughly enjoyed.  Also enjoyed lunch out and a couple of cream teas too! Bang goes the diet!.....

Anyway towards the end of the week I had half a dozen blankets arrive and I'm a bit late showing them to you, I'm sorry for keeping you waiting.

I have to say at this point I have three on this post from 'The Wool Stop' and if you want to see the others would you mind going back a few posts please? Thanks alot.

These three blankets have been sent in and the first one was actually a bag of squares that I sent to Judith to be made up. I'm sure you will agree this has turned out so well. The other two further on in the Slide Show are blankets which Judith has made herself. They are so warm and I know for a fact that they will be very well received by the Elderly. They are absolutely gorgeous.

I can't thank you enough Judith.

Let's take a look at them now.

Thanks for visiting 'Mrs Twins' this evening.

'Blues and Greens!'

Hello and thanks for visiting 'Mrs Twins'.

This wonderful blanket arrived yesterday and this is the first chance I've had to blog about it. I do like to put the blankets on 'Mrs Twins' because I know there are some who follow this blog rather than our main one.

243 'Made and donated by Liz (UK) during Lent'.

Liz contacted me some weeks ago and told me that she was making a blanket for our 'SIBOL' project during Lent. What a good idea! This blanket has turned out so well, just look at the colours in it. Really beautiful and some of my favourite colour combinations. I love the border too.  Decorated with butterflies and green ribbon another wonderful blanket for our homes.

Thank you so much Liz for thinking of our 'SIBOL' project, I am very grateful to you. I have made you a Slide Show sit back and enjoy!

Autumn arrives!

Good afternoon and welcome to 'Mrs Twins!

I would like to thank Marilyn for 'Colours of Autumn'. Marilyn  has very kindly made and donated this beautiful blanket for our Elderly residents. The colours are really autumny and I particularly like how she has made the squares. The centres are in sparkly yarn and they are a granny square within a granny. I particularly like the flower squares in this blanket as you will see from the following photo.  It has such a lovely feel to it, it's so warm and cosy I love it. Decorated with ribbon and butterflies this is going to be a perfect blanket for some special person.

Pretty flower squares.

I have made a Slide Show for you Marilyn, thank you so much for a stunning blanket.

'Silver Lady'.

Hello everyone!

241. 'Silver Lady' thanks to Bev for assembling.

What a great name for one of our blankets! I am very grateful to baw1812 (Bev) over on RAVELRY for assembling a bag of squares for me. As I was saying over on SIBOL, helping me make a bag up is a Challenge in itself! Bev has made an excellent job of this blanket and I particularly like the added colours to it. Bev has also made some pretty Butterflies to compliment the blanket which I'm very grateful for  not to mention the gorgeous ribbon thank you so much for everything!

Let's take a look at this beauty!

More beauties arrive!

Hi everyone!

005

I am always grateful to the Ladies on the MSE Knitting forum for the help they give me and today I received two blankets from ginnyknit.

ginnyknit has crocheted a beautiful granny square blanket in the colours of white, pink,  dusky pink and maroon. A great blanket I love it, so...pretty don't you think?  You have made it beautifully ginnyknit. I'm sure our Elderly Ladies are going to love this beauty.

What a kind Lady ginnyknit is! She offered to help me make up a bag of squares, this blanket too has come out really nice. The squares came from Melanie. A pretty border too ginnyknit.  Thank you so...much for everything.

More blankets for our Elderly.

Welcome to 'Mrs Twins' this afternoon.

I'm sure you will want to see these two pretty blankets which have arrived today! Sally has very kindly assembled them for me. One Knitted blanket and the other a Crocheted. The squares in the Crocheted blanket have been sent to me by 'Let's Get Crafting' some time ago. One of their readers very kindly sent them some squares and she asked them to send them on to a Charity. They chose 'SIBOL' which was very kind indeed. Sally took on the job of assembling them for me. I'm sure you will agree both blankets are really nice.

Thanks to everyone who sent in squares for these blankets. I love them and I know our Elderly will too!

'Flashy blanket' for our Elderly.

Good morning,

232. 'Flashy blanket' from Katou (France). Thank you!

Thanks for visiting 'Mrs Twins' today. It's so nice when Ladies have made their own blankets for 'SIBOL' and this morning I have received a beauty from Notre-Atelier in France. This blanket is stunning and she has used the 'mile-a-minute' pattern over on You Tube. This blanket works up so quickly and look at the fantastic colours too! Notre-Atelier had concerns that the brightness of the blanket would not be suitable but I have re-assured her that the Elderly love bright colours and I'm sure this one will be very well received.

Butterflies too make this blanket so special and Notre-Atelier even included a Flower garland and crocheted case for my birthday. Very nice of you thank you so much Notre-Atelier.

Let's take a look now at 'Flashy blanket'. Thank you so much! I love it.

Thank you for visiting I hope you like the blanket.

A bumper delivery of blankets today!

Good afternoon and thanks for visiting 'Mrs Twins'.

I would like to thank joyce28 very much for assembling three Knitted blankets up for me. I actually don't know who sent in these 'rectangles' I found them on my doorstep so thank you 'anonymous!'. These blankets have been put together so...well and I know for a fact that they really are going to keep the Elderly warm this winter coming. I'm going to show you them in a Slide Show along with a Crocheted blanket which I had arrive today too. 'jean nock' very kindly made the Crocheted blanket up for me and she also has made a fantastic job. The squares in this one too are so..pretty! Thank you both very much indeed.

I delivered 22 blankets last Friday and now my collection is growing once again!

I am also very excited because today the book I ordered from Amazon has just arrived! It's called 'Crochet Saved my Life' and it's written by one of our fellow Bloggers 'Kathryn Vercillo of 'Crochet Concupiscence'  over in the States.

I'm very happy because 'SIBOL' has been mentioned on Page 286 in the 'Crocheting for Charity' section of the book. This is really, really good! Thanks so much Kathryn! We've never been in a book before!

So tonight I shall 'retire early' and take up a cup of hot chocolate up to bed and have a good read! I can't wait.
